Accessibility Statement

Last updated: October 28, 2026

Our commitment

Proto-Dash aims to make the website and competitions usable by people with disabilities, working toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This is an ongoing goal, not a claim of certified conformance. We review keyboard access, visible focus, heading structure, form labels, contrast, zoom, reflow, alternative text, and reduced-motion preferences as the site changes.

Using the site

You can use Tab and Shift+Tab to move between controls, Enter or Space to activate buttons, and Escape to close the sign-in dialog or gallery preview. Browser zoom and device text settings can help enlarge content. The site respects your system’s reduced-motion preference. Account forms identify errors in text rather than relying on color alone.

Known limitations

Third-party forms, community services, participant media, and uploaded PDFs may have accessibility barriers. Engineering diagrams or videos may need an alternative explanation or transcript. If a document or required tool is inaccessible, contact us for another format or a supported submission method. Do not assume you must use an inaccessible tool to participate.

Report a barrier or request an accommodation

Use the Contact page with the subject “Accessibility Request.” Include the page or competition, what you were trying to do, the barrier, your preferred response format, and any deadline. You may mention your device or assistive technology if helpful; a medical diagnosis is not needed in your first message.

We aim to acknowledge requests within two business days and will discuss a practical alternative with you and relevant university staff. For a time-sensitive deadline, mark the subject “Time-sensitive accessibility request” and contact us as early as possible. A request does not automatically change a deadline; we will confirm arrangements directly. Requesting access will not affect judging.

Follow-up

If a response does not resolve the barrier, reply to the same conversation asking for organizer review. We welcome feedback on the proposed solution and will explain the next steps. This statement is reviewed as features and known limitations change.
